My bestof 2018

Previous year I proudly had trouble picking my favourite of each month.
This one was easy for the wrong reasons : I didn't draw that much.

I posted 420 (yoloswag) drawings on DA since I started 6 years ago, so 70 drawings a year on average.
This year : 48

Plus I was really lazy at uploading stuff and a lot of stuff must be from the wrong months, but w/e

Hands down, I think this is my best pixelart portrait I've made so far. It was also the first time I drew a protogen. I hope I get more commissions of these because they're adorable and mix fluffiness and metal which allows me to draw both high contrast highlights and fluff!

There's still lots of pixelart in my gallery but I still don't wanna give up on the rest and obstinately continue to try new mediums or push myself at digital and less frequently traditional.
Starry requested a Mario Odyssey themed commission, which I had a lot of fun doing since I love the game. My only yet major gripe right now is Hexels had an update, deprecating a mostly redundant feature, but that one was critical to my workflow and now I need to use a workaround that slows me down noticeably. I'm actually frustrated enough I thought of making my own software or trying a bunch until I find another that works well with tablet. If you have any recommendation of pixelart program >that feature tablet pressure sensitivity< hmu please!

I remember wanting fresh air and distancing more from the then recent bunch of pixelart (deja vu) so I tried pony style randomly, was fun.

Forgot when I drew this (during last WTFur con, rip ;-;), though I uploaded it in april so it counts. I was surprised how well I managed to use markers despite barely using em ever before. I remember really really liking the piece then. Now I think although new one is cleaner and better proportions, the original I made is more visceral and expressive and overall better. I just really like Alyssa and wanna make some project in which I could pitch her in.

I rarely ever draw multiple characters drawing, because they're pretty hard and I mostly do commissions and peeps don't turn to me for these (I blame unclear pricing of these, I'll upload a pricesheet that encompasses them ideally). For the longest time I though I'd only do this one B&W but it ended up so clean I decided to color it in IIRC. Noxid still uses it as laptop bg but he needs a new one now since I changed sona >:3

This drawing isn't the first I do with the random-ish stamp-ish brush nor the best imho (My favourite might be Puro by now : https://www.deviantart.com/nsyse/art/Puro-gooey-nerd-748119811 I really like puro btw, spam me puros) but this drawing is important since it recycled a scrapped sketch I loved but couldn't bring myself to complete for a seemingly odd reason : I drew the shading too detailed at first. I had made a small area with excruciatingly painful to paint detailed lighting (nose bridge area) so I got despaired to try coloring it all. Completely scrapped the colors and drew over the sketch, fixing it partially even and completed it from scratch, with better but much different result than what I started like a year ago.

I didn't upload a single high effort drawing I like in july. This one was a fun prompt however and I like the concept although it's not as dynamic as it should be. Comment you want me to draw my "Alolan Luxray" again and I'll do it proper now.
Asked Noxid what type of pokemon I'd be he said fire so I made alt type luxray. I gave him grass steel.

Only month where I struggled to pick (this or Good Knight, important because it's for Daisie and is loosely inspired by previous monochrom-y undertale drawing I had made). Very similarily to Varianne, this one recycles an art bash I did to design Daniel but ended up never drawing and completing properly. Even as is it is a bit crude, but I decided I liked the lack of color  except the blue scarf for mood and lore reason.
Daniel didn't play a major role in the campaign, but he was the character I enjoyed most killing and thinking up behind the scenes.

For a while I had stopped drawing Tyler. I still identified with my avatar much, but honestly he is way tedious to draw, because as it turns out, tigers have stripes (ikr, crazy).
The good news is lions don't, but they have a shitty, boring small tail with unesthetic wild hair tuft. I fixed that by making the tail bigge, toothy and sentient that likes chips. Bam done.
I'm really happy with my new fursona design. Not outlandishly different than Tyler who I still love, but simpler/more elegant and more interesting in design. Completely worth the weird but amusing inquiries about what is or isn't my fetish.

November was also very dry, only uploaded 3 things, all of them good though this one is my favourite since I forgot about it, found it again impressed myself and uploaded it.

In december I had the brilliant idea to take on many raffles on Amino to celebrate a number or something (I forgot tbh). It was mostly an excuse to have more stuff to draw without taking commissions because I knew finals would be too much and I wouldn't have time to complete em in time for christmas.
Turns out raffles take just as long as commissions, who would'th thounked.
I expected I'd be beyond rusty, disappointed and sad given the fact classes and finals kept me wayy too busy to draw, I drew that one in less than 1h15. That's really quick for me considering my headshots take me 1h30-2h30 normally and that they don't turn out this good imho. I definitely didn't draw as much as I wish and still have a ton of these to churn out but I'm happy I finished the year on a high note.

As usual completely forgot about last year's NYR.
It's kind of good but pretty vague so I'll reitarate my goal to be :
Every day log an entry of something good I did :
- Code
- Complete homework/tutorials
- Sort or tidy room etc
- Complete a piece of art
- Cook something instead of eating at restaurant

But why aim reasonable and doable? This year I also wanna make at least 1 free playable furry game. Please encourage me to do it, I have all the technical knowledge, I just need to stop being afraid to try it.
I'll start by making a startup page to these NYR on chrome so I see my goal often and strive to accomplish it.
