Pride Month-Bisexuality

KrissieFox

Hello, beautiful watchers!

I hope you all had a happy June and pride month. Now...I realize it's gone into July, but why not keep pride month going? I saw as long as we have people bitching about the fact that pride month exists, is the reason we need to keep having pride month. smirks Not unlike the reason we still need feminism. and I do apologize for my pictures taking a while, I'd had a rather eventful last couple weeks...went away on a furry camping trip a few states away, then a few days later somehow wound up spending a few days in the hospital with Diffuse Colitis. My super-sweet wife https://www.weasyl.com/~ashleyfableblack and my favorite hugwolf Dratis stayed by my side at the hospital and kept me safe and comfy while the doctors and nurses did all their pokey proddy medical stuff, helping me get better.

But, as I said in my journal over on http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8765757/, I've been at work on some pride month gift art for some very wonderful folks. Here we have the aforementioned hugwolf Dratis and charming gentleman Ahriman holding up the bisexual pride flag. <3

Bisexuality is defined as an attraction to both males and females, and was actually something I considered myself for a time, but after meeting more non-binary/agender people, I found the term didn't really work for me as I realized the things I find attractive aren't all based on a binary sex or gender. This certainly isn't meant to be a criticism of those who do identify as bisexual, as everyone has their own things that they may or may not be attracted to, and the world does not revolve around my preferences. In fact, the more I've read about it, the more I've been pretty horrified at the kind of harassment and exclusionary treatment bisexual people have had to deal with - it's not entirely unlike the crap that non-binary people get. A lot of people have this strange idea that you have to be either a hetero-normative heterosexual or some sort of wildly flamboyant homosexual, and that there is no grey area or complexity to attraction or sexuality.

Even if you don't understand somebodies attractions, there's no need to be a jerk to people. I don't understand what it's like to be straight, but a straight person likes what they like and if they aren't hurting anyone, it's none of my business. I feel the same should apply to all sexualities and genders.
