year of sketchbook arts--week 5

keirajo

I finally scanned the last [near] two months of sketchbook stuff, eight whole weeks.......or 8 days in the course of postings. XD

Here's a drawing of Smokie, my Aero Mage that Kilo (thenextgenhero) created and gave to me as an adopt, for week 5. :)

I like it. Though the thinner lines for the smoke/cloudy parts are a bit strange looking to me compared to the thinker lines used for the rest of the drawing.

    They are still super cute!

      Thanks so much! :D

Yeah, I’m not good with “lineless” art......now that I can do digital, I can erase my “helper lines”........but I’m still stuck with them traditionally! XD

I literally have to draw ALL THE LINES! XD

This is adorable! I do agree with the lineart looking kinda strange with the varying thickness, but I don't think it's a huge problem. Personally, I think the clouds with thin lineart are a good idea; it will make what is drawn with thick lineart pop more.

      Thanks! :D

Yeah, if I could do things lineless, it’d probably look a lot better. :) So.......since I need my “helper lines”, I usually use a super-thin line pen for them. Like an .05 or .1!

D’aww! Thank you so much! :D

I wish reds (and any color with red base, like purple and pink) scanned better.......but you get what you get for traditional work! XD

You're welcome! Ahh, yeah xD I don't have a scanner but my traditional work looks weirdly contrasty when I take a picture of it with my iPhone.

True! Technology hates traditional art most of the time! XD
