More of my painted fossil rock magnets, this time with wasps (top) and bees (bottom). I did a lot of intricate animal designs like these even though I started this project just intending to do simple things like leaves and footprints. There are just too many good fossils to reference!
These magnets are made using river rocks with hand painted fossil designs in gold ink. Each one is super unique because of the varying shape of the rocks, but they're usually between 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5 cm). Most are black or dark grey, but some unique ones in brown or mottled colors appear as well. The backs are held snug with a large ceramic magnet.
