I always figured my horns functioned as antennae, not just bony decoration.
Like, maybe dragons in formation communicate via some sorta RF rather than trying to be heard over the wind.

I like this idea very much, something tells me that my horns though are more tuning forks, and you have to bap them to tune me in, but I'll HUMMMMMmmmm m m m mmm.... at attention.
