Map of Wildcat City (Rough Sketch) by Leo the Tiger

Map of Wildcat City (Rough Sketch)

Leo the Tiger

A request from bluemario1016. He wanted to see me draw this rough outline of a map of Wildcat City. I may have been inconsistent with a few things over the time, but this is planned to be my official updated map for 2013-2014 purposes and it may have updates again later on. I apologize if you have trouble reading the words, but I did this in ink. You'll easily be able to read it if you make the picture bigger.

Wildcat City, where the bulk of my stories take place unless otherwise specified (especially if it is one of my cowboy stories), is divided into the following districts, and it's located in the state of Kansas, USA, but it is ALL still Wildcat City:

Battlefield Range: The largest part of the city, which is what makes people think of Wildcat City in the first place. Originally it just took up the biggest box, but the extra boxes with the same label were added later on when a freak accident of Cripto's superpowers increased the size and strength of the population and area. It's all considered one district, although because of the extra add-ons, the district itself is identified by colors chosen by random lot. All police, fire, and ambulance workers, therefore, call themselves by these colors.

Blue District: The big box.
Red District: The box to the left of the big box.
Yellow District: The box under the big box next to Dingoville.
Purple District: The box under the Yellow District that's next to Centuryburg and the area labeled as "OUTSKIRTS."

Battlefield Range is home to all the major metropolitan features, the numerous marching bands that parade the streets daily (weather permitting), and the city's global phenomenon of fast food, Maximum Mighty Melt (or M3 for short). It lends its namesake to one of the city's featured FSL roller derby teams, the Battlefield Rangers, and plays hosts to the other two big-name teams, the Wildcat City Dawg Pound (Danger Dawg's team) and the Wildcat City Patriots (Super C's team). It is also the site of an unrecorded Civil War battle declared "way too dreadful to be written down," as the only survivors on both Union and Conferderate sides were one drummer boy each, and each was a young lion cub. (The two became friends after the war's end, and the Union drummer boy became an honored ancestor of the Lion of Liberty). It is significant in that it is even the site where the act of furry music alone, during a post-Civil War period where humans and furries didn't get along well and there was lots of tension in the air ruled the furries in favor when their music was used as a code. The humans couldn't crack it, and soon bad conscience overtook them.

Battlefield Range is where you'll find the majority of G-52 members who are superheroes (not counting the British ones) and a few of their allies. This includes, but is not limited to, Super C, Leo the Patriotic Lion, the Lion of Liberty, Cripto, Crush, T2, Super Slash, Super Leo, Grease, and Boomcat, among other American members. It also is the chosen destination of the immigrants of the planet Kriegland, and now serves as home to King Leo V, Leo the Tiger, John the Tiger, and all musicians playing under their command.

Cat's Granby: The modern farming community fused together from a bunch of previous small farm towns. Famer's markets and town hall meetings are still common here. It's also the second home of cowboy lynx "Callahan Cody" Belachman, leader of the posse known as the "Fab 5." (His first and true home is Hicksburg, Texas, and he's darn proud of it.)

Horseshoeville: The second farming community that does the same thing as Hickburg, TX, and Glenn View Springs, AR; it still looks like the Wild West of the late 1800s on the outside, even though there may be modernization in any form on the inside. This is done to preserve tradition in all three places. Horseshoeville is home to the cowboy cat known as Geoff the Generous, known for his kindhearted personality and philanthrophy, and he has collaborated with Cripto on a few giving projects.

Quartzburg: The home of the city's mining folks in its prominent days. Today, it mainly serves as a historic monument and tourist attraction, having closed all its mines for safety purposes, although modern technology may be used to drill for things such as oil in case it is down there.

Canine Town: A general suburbs-type district that used to be the big place for canine furries to escape to when the bickering and bad behavior of humans caused them troubles.

Historic District: This name is used to refer to another of the escape places furries would go to when humans gave them problems. It was the birthplace of what is now the city flag (a black paw print on a white background). It also was the place where the biggest progress in furry development was proven to be happening.

Mix District: Another suburbs-type district; this is the first place where humans and furries were settling in peace and living in harmony together, well before the tension in the whole city finally dissolved, and it dissolved when WW1 broke out.

Chinatown: Self-explanatory. Need I say more?

Grizzlyville: This is where the largest population of grizzly bears outisde Battlefield Range live. Jazz is wildly popular in this district, and bears also enjoy tap dancing (especially to jazzy drum solos) and old-school vaudeville acts.

Dingoville: This is where the largest population of dingoes live, outside Battlefield Range.

Centuryburg: A new district created in the year 2000 to chop off part of the outskirts.

Outskirts: Just outskirts, all of which serve as highway routes to enter and exit Wildcat City.

Some trivia about Wildcat City as a whole:

  1. It is the music capital of the world. While the huge number of marching bands are the most famous element, the city loves all types of music, and it's been known to produce some of the hottest furry rock bands to ever hit the stage, including Furry Fury (of which Cripto as mild-mannered Nathan Knight is the frontman).

  2. You cannot go two blocks without seeing the Stars and Stripes, and you cannot go six blocks without seeing the city's paw print flag. If you ever see the Union Jack (British flag), it represents the city's love of history, and particularly the period of the American War for Independence, fought against the British Empire.

  3. Because of Leo the Patriotic Lion's influence, anybody in Wildcat City considered a public figure (including Leo), while being recognized as one, easily can live his or her life with no troubles. Fans asking for autographs is still common, though; they just respect the public figure and give him or her the space he or she wants.

  4. Wildcat City has had too many laws that the Supreme Court has said are unconstitutional, because of their extremeness. The most infamous one of all sent you to jail or juvenile for six months or fined you $2,000 for every swear word you said out loud, in an attempt to protect the city's reputation for being a clean-mouthed town. This law was in effect before Leo the Patriotic Lion was alive. Others ranged from $250,000 fine or 25-50 years in prison for a DUI, to 50-60 years to life in prison for murder, or even for simple robbery of a bank.

  5. Furries outnumber humans in the population by a ratio of 35 to 1.

  6. The presence of the Krieglandonians plus Leo the Patriotic Lion's brave deed of taking a bullet to the head helped to make Wildcat City the world's #1 tourist destination.

  7. The city has NO cinemas or casinos. People will, however, watch films on TV, DVD/VHS/Blu Ray®, or through the internet or Netflix®. (NOTE: This has since been amended so that a cinema will be built for people to enjoy, but the casinos are not coming in.)

  8. It is illegal to do dances popularized on the internet that the city finds disturbing. Examples include the Gangam Style and Harlem Shake. The gross act of twerking is also illegal.

  9. When the freak accident of Cripto's superpowers brought various cartoon, video game, and anime characters to life and to the real world, Wildcat City was the place a bunch of them chose home, since the homes of some of these groups don't exist in the real world. The C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa, for instance, chose Horseshoeville as their place of residence since it was closest to Moo Mesa in terms of lifestyle. Sonic the Hedgehog, the SWAT Kats, the Biker Mice from Mars, and Mighty Mouse, however, selected Battlefield Range since it was where the G-52s who are superheroes all call home. (The Biker Mice previously were in Chicago but decided Wildcat City was a better choice.)

T2 invented a portal allowing characters who did not wish to stay to return to their fictional places. All aforementioned characters in the above paragraph, however, chose to stay in Wildcat City, and were inducted as allies to the G-52s. Sonic, the SWAT Kats, and the Biker Mice (and all associates) later formed their own rocks bands, and were later added to the FSL to balance out the number of roller derby teams at 12. Despite being in Wildcat City full-time, their team namesakes still refer to the origins and updates of their settings (Station Square Diamonds, Megakat City Enforcers, Martian Freedom Fighters).

  1. Wildcat City is the official "home away from home" for all members of the UN1024 squadron. Each country they represent is marked by the correct flag flying alongside Old Glory at City Hall. Leo the Tiger and his band play the correct anthem to perfection with the raising of each flag.

  2. Cripto, Leo the Patriotic Lion, Super C, D.W., T2, and Crush have their houses connected to tunnels leading to the big castle that is home to the superhero Dark Wolf. His castle also serves as the official secret base of the G-52s.

UPDATE: As of the start of 2014, new changes are being made to allow for freer traffic and shipment of goods and services. Bands no longer parade the streets daily, weather permitting, but confine practices to football fields and band camps. Wildcat City is also adding in a minor league baseball team, using a field previously used by WU until they got the donation (from Cripto as you might have guessed) to build a new one. Cinemas were added in as well, but still no casino has been built.
