"After the conception of the amalgamate in the world, unorthodox cults began to crop up in the far reaches and niches of societies. Many of these cults found a home in places which were away from the metropolitan areas which were heavily policed and surveyed, smaller cities and towns which had either become somewhat deserted due to the growing threat or that were small to begin with. These cults believed that the amalgamate was the next step to becoming closer to the gods they believed in, the amalgamate being a creature of a more godly descendance that had come to unite all the species as one. Most of these cults consist of people who have already become partially infected, but they most likely begin with a charismatic enough leader with deviant ideologies, as most cults do. Due to the nature of these cults of harboring the amalgamate in hidden places, they are dangerous to everyone else in their vicinity, either infecting others directly or indirectly. Eventually of course these cults do fall apart once the infection reaches a critical mass and they go through a drastic transformation, however the damage they can cause unnoticed before this happens can cause entire cities to fall in a chain reaction when the infection becomes apparent."
