A desert... Why'd it have to be a desert? Such an endless one, at that...

Fire-types like myself aren't bothered as much as most creatures in such a hostile environment, but I had still chosen very unwisely to cross the sandy wastes unprepared. The heat was no bother, but the lack of food and water...was beginning to become a problem. This wasn't my sort of environment at all, and my ineptitude to find nourishment was making that quite clear...

Tired as I was, I still should've paid the conspicuous black shape poking from the ground more attention. But I was worrying too much about my own well-being to remember that some creatures still exist - and thrive - in an arid place such as this...!

As soon as my foot touched down on what I had assumed to be a rock, I knew I had made a mistake. The 'rock' was soft and warm, and a snort of air pushed against my foot before...

The rousing of the sleeping creature below me happened in an instant, and in only an instant more it was fully awake and enraged by my waking it! Without any time to respond, I flew back as the sandy ground beneath me gave way and I was shoved hard by some large...and very angry...monstrosity! @_@

...Maybe I should've worried about my well-being in ways beyond just lack of food and drink...!

This EPIC 5-part comic was drawn up by   ForcesWerwolf and kindly purchased for me by   x1gameguy2007. <3 Forces is an awesome artist of course, and he really focused on the attention to detail that I gave for my character, making this lovely series one of my better character references as well as an awesome and vorish tale! ^^

The thumbnail for this image was also made by Forces; he made such a polished and attention-grabbing set of thumbs for this comic that I figured it would be well worth using them myself. =3
