Yesterday, as I was leading a warm-up session at the gymnastics center, I had the kids doing tuck-jumps to get their legs warmed up. I was jumping along with them, and one girl commented on how high I was jumping, saying, "Are you part kangaroo? You must be a kangaroo." I'm fairly certain she was just joking, but it did give me a good idea.
And about my facial expression in this piece: it was going to be a sort of cocky half-smile, but when I drew the eyes in, they turned out like they appear here, which completely changed the expression. I thought it looked great, however, so I stuck with it, as you can see; they match the pose quite nicely, now that I think about it.

Also, kangaroos have pretty long claws, as it turns out.
