Eating Contest in Hell

The timer was ticking down, just over a minute left. RJ had a slight lead over Korb, and the big demon was having trouble keeping up with how much the hellhound could cram into his jaws at once. Korb tilted the remainder of his plate into his mouth and flung it into his sloping pile of used dishes and drained glasses. He had to make up the difference somehow, and fast.

The contest judge, a lower-level demon than Korb, squeezed around behind the two to update the bars showing how far along each one was. He inched them both up, with RJ still leading. That’s when Korb got an awful idea. He reached out with his huge clawed hands and grabbed the judge in one, and his red sash reading “judge” in the other. The judge yelped, and a murmur went through the crowd.

Suddenly, they burst into raucous cheering as Kob opened his mouth and shoved the judge in headfirst. RJ looked up from his food at the roaring of the crowd, and then looked to Korb. Cheater! He leaned forward, lounging on his gut as his tail wrapped around his front. Blue flames danced on the tip of his tail, flickering a bit as RJ snorted with irritation.

Korb used his long, prehensile tongue to lasso the judge’s hips and pull him in. The big demon’s throat bulged, stretching, and his stomach groaned as it had a sizeable meal crammed in on top of everything else. His heavy gulping couldn’t be heard over the cheering, but the sharp light from RJ’s tail made the impressions of hands pushing outward obvious.

Korb swallowed, closed his jaws, and then belched, letting his tongue flop out in delight. The timer buzzed, hitting zero, and he gave a smug look to the hellhound that he now outsized. RJ put his head in one hand and rolled his eyes. Next time, he would just have to eat his cheating cheater competition.
