In The Bellies of the Beasts

Deriaz

A grayscale commission for Diarmaidhutchence of FA, whom you can also blame for the title -- to keep with his upload themes, I asked him for a good title. He delivered.

The way to a man's heart is through his stomach, I'm told. Bruce, on the other hand, just wants gains and will accept free food and/or gym buddies. And apparently, can't say no to Sam's southern cooking, nor saying "no" to being given Sam-sized servings. Not that Sam seems to mind, or that this is a problem in the slightest!

I was super excited when Hutch said he wanted to get something from me. I've been a fan of his designs for a while, so I knew I had to give this my 110%. I'm really happy with the result. Thank you for trusting me with your gator, Hutch!

It's so amazing how you can do such well-defined muscles and scales/plating all in one spot together. Keep up the good work! :D

A lot of it for me is actually ignoring the scales and plates until near the end. I then apply a light layer that sketches out the form and shape of the scales and stuff, then one more layer that applies lighting around it in order to make it mold comfortably into the figure. So my anatomy and lighting is correct before I detail, then the detail requires less work. The groundwork has already been done, I just have to mold a smaller form! If that makes sense. There's probably a slightly cleaner way to do it that I'll discover soon, though, of course.

Thank you so much!! I will try my best!!

I have to say the method you use sounds crazy-complicated to me.....but it definitely turns out awesome! :D

        You're very welcome! :)
