Afterlife Act 1- Shame by Bartan

Afterlife Act 1- Shame

Bartan

A while after Collapse My Dream, I got in the mood for some writing again. I somehow came to my large character list for Entropy's War, and noticed that quite a few of them were still missing/unfilled. Coming across one character specifically: I remembered his name, what he looked like, what powers/abilities he had, and a little bit of how he started out. Other than that, Nothing Else. Notta. Zippo. I couldn't for the life of me remember what happened to the guy. What his role was in EW (Honestly, Bartan. You did not just shorten Entropy's War and get EW...), what he brought to the story, to the other characters. His interactions with the other characters. I remembered a few fight scenes with him in it, but not much else.

Now, one of the big reasons why I don't want to write Entropy's War is that it's like... 85% combat. It'd be fine for a series of games/movies/etc. But as a story... It doesn't bring what I seen to life (believe me, I've tried). However, the more I thought about this one character, the more it bothered me that I couldn't remember anything about it. But this also led me to brainstorm a bit more with it. Instead of actually writing/remaking a story for him that is like Entropy's War, why not try to focus on something a little bit differently?

And so, Afterlife was written. The main idea of this (if I end up continuing it) is to mainly explore what it means to be Humane. This part right now is short, mostly because I just wanted to add something on here for now. So I don't think I touched on that theme too much just yet. I personal feel like Zhaiothe's Tale was much better overall, but this turned out... Alright.

Granted, I will say something about this piece: It's mostly a drama. It's not made to be funny (though it may have it's moments), and it's not really made to be romantic like Zhai's was. Let alone made to be erotically appealing. I wanted to try something a little more serious, but I wonder if well... Nevermind. I'll read what you think about them first.

As for music credits:
Afterlife is by Amaranthe.
Shame is from Drowning Pool's Full Circle album.
And the song that is sung about halfway in is Bowling For Soup's Dance With You. An old classic that tends to stick with me.

Not much else to be said. Enjoy this project and tell me what you think.
