Sergal Line by Doran Eirok

Sergal Line

Doran Eirok

So you've probably been a furry too long (or arguably, just long enough) when you're coming home from a furmeet in London with your fellow dragons and are hopping on the Tube, set to take the Circle Line from Tower Hill to Euston Square, and you can absolutely swear that the loudspeaker announcement just informed you that the next train was a 'Sergal line' train to Hammersmith, and it takes you a moment to realise that no, it just said 'Circle line' and you misheard it because you're a silly furry.

Bonus points if the mix-up creates a mental image in your head like this, of a sergal riding on top of a Tube train squeeing with delight, and you go home and insist on drawing it.

It's my brain, I make no excuses. But hey, first time drawing a sergal!

< transit_nerd>The Sergal Line between Tower Hill and Euston Square is in a tunnel... won't the sergal hit his head?< /transit_nerd>

I did sorta wonder about the tunnel/head interface issue, yeah... and decided not to worry too much about it in the interest of just keeping the picture cute. ;D Sergals are spindly, I guess he can just duck really low...

And I'm afraid I'm failing at catching the references!

1 is from Skyfall, the James Bond movie from 2012. There is an Underground train just leaving a station when someone on the platform decides that they need to be on that train, so they jump off the platform and grab on to the end of the train, on the outside. Cut to a man standing on the platform who watched the jump, and who makes that remark.

2 is a lyric from an old Jethro Tull song that mentions the line in question.
