So I've been watching Neltruin for years, and been wanting to commission them for almost as long. Specifically, I've watched their amazing latex/goo art, and wanted to commission something like that for Hale and myself. Recently, they opened for sketch commissions (this is supposedly a sketch commission wtf how) and it happened to be when I had some spare funds to spend. So I jumped on that! And happily, they accepted the commission. It was an amazing experience! Not only did they go MUCH faster than the suggested time to completion, but they far exceeded my original request. I had asked for an image of Farore covered in shiny black goop, with four red eyes visible somewhere on the goop. I didn't tell them any more details than that, except to say that the goop was my partner's character. Imagine my delighted surprise when I saw the rough sketch and it had not just red eyes, but also a panther head and paws! They said they'd seen art of our characters together before and added the extra detail just because. Normally, I'm unfortunately picky about Farore's details, but this time I only said a handful of ones to get for sure, and artistic freedom on the rest. The rough sketch they showed me didn't have any of Farore's details filled in, but for some reason I wasn't worried (despite normally being neurotic about Farore's design), and I was just so amazed when I saw the final and every detail was perfect! I had also mentioned the glowing stripes, but said they were wholly optional - and Neltruin included them, on the tail, and in a really neat looking way.

Basically, I love everything about this. I know Hale really likes Neltruin's art too, so it was lovely to be able to surprise them with this art that I've been wanting to buy for years. And they were really happy with it n_n I just really am blown away by Hale's smooth and shiny, goopy and dynamic look, by Farore's serene pose and perfect details, by the awesome look of the glow-stripes, the expressions, and just everything.
