Inspiration for this picture was the currently awakening war, Esteban's Hunt and the song "Im Auge des Sturms" by Wir Sind Helden. I wanted to show how girlfriends Melissa (right) and Aruna (left) support each other in the chaos.

The day holds it's breath, everything's quiet
In the corners, whispering paper dances
An agitated wind sweeps through the streets
And across the bench we sat on earlier
Pauses and searches you

The houses huddle closely together
They would rather be elsewhere
The wind irritatedly tears all the leaves off the trees
Tangles the threads of kites and dreams
Tries to find an opening and reaches for you

The ducking city stares into the yellow-grey clouds
With eyes that are dull and tired
A dusty wind, like a dry cough,
Tears apart the sooty sky above the town with a feverish hand
The wind angrily throws itself against the windows
It howls like a hungry animal
The storm whips waves high like towers into puddles
Rips dachshunds off leashes, steals children and hats
Grinds to a halt and roars for you
But you are here with me
