So we brought the star up, and now to bring that star back down to earth for a minute. This fan art has been sitting in my sketches for a long time. The joke is shamelessly stolen from Blazen: Blazblue abridged, only because I thought it was totally appropriate. Problem is, I think it was brand new when I first drew this. That was, what, a year ago, that episode came out? Priorities, eh.

Well anyway. For one, this mirrored my own fears when dust came out that Fidget and Rain might be too similar. In design yes, but I stand firm, thankfully not in character. And second, I imagined this is exactly how the confrontation would go down if they could meet! Fidget was here first, she has a right to feel big and smug! Rain is the contender coming in, and she’s got a lot to prove for herself as a mascot/animal companion/sidekick/whatever. With any luck, she’ll rise to the challenge and you’ll like her just as much.
