Ok guys, don't be too harsh! I never ever draw animals, so the anatomy is very difficult for me, and this happens to be a creature originally created by with even more unique anatomy soo... herpa derpa!
I would like to point out that was sketched in ballpoint in a matter of 20 minutes, then painted in Sai (a program I've never used before) in about an hour.
Mostly this was an exercise in multiple ways, so I'm always open to critique, but do consider the casualness of this piece. The only reason its not filed under as a "sketch" is because if I did that, everything I ever will post would be under sketches. XD
In hindsight, this looks like a painted NIGHTMARE, but it was very fun playing with sai and figuring out how it worked. All colors where done on 1 layer, with the exception of the eye, which I wanted to pop out a little more. A little bit of highlighting was done to see just how easy/hard it would be to shade, but to be fair, i really suck at shading no matter what. XD

:D Well, I was looking at the pic you did for me (again) and it makes me squee so much everytime I see/read it, that it made me want to do a little homage or something I guess. not enough to say fanart, but a little more effort than a mindless doodle? Idk. point is, your thingy filled me with emotions that made me want to do this.

oAo oAo oAo oAo Squeeeeeee I didn't think you'd try to draw her in her Caeldy form. :D *wiggle* Actually, she looks really great! I love her toes, they look adorable. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, for not drawing animals AND tackling a Caeldy, this looks really good. 8] I really like the way you did the speckles on her hips and tails. It only forwards her 'oceany' feel.
