Officer Nox has a massage for you!

(Note: Not anthro I know, but I spent a lot of effort on this one, and the game and show itself has plenty of anthro characters to it, so maybe some people on here can get into it from seeing this, who knows?)

And here’s another bit of fanart I couldn’t resist!

Despite a few rocky episodes, I’ve found myself really getting into a certain little show called Wakfu recently. I found one of the DVD’s in my local K-mart and it was hard to not want to check it out, with it’s really alluring cartoon style. And so far, I haven’t regretted it. It has a story that has a nasty tendency of getting sidetracked, but it’s a lot of fun, and has good characters!

It’s an odd specimen: a French show that didn’t get an official dub, it ended up being crowd funded! So naturally, many people are up in the air about it. Me personally: I’d be lying if I said there weren’t some awkward moments where it felt like they were phoning it in. But I don’t think they could’ve picked a more fitting voice for Yugo then the skunk-fu themselves, Mrs. Jules de Jongh! Most of the other voice actors have defied the odds and grown on me. (even the ones I thought would drive me nuts, like Ruel’s VA!)

But when I’m looking through the credits, the name ‘’Arthur Bostrom’’ comes up, as the villain Nox’s voice actor. And I quickly figured out why that name was ringing a bell... He’s a really good British actor who speaks fluent English and French. I’d like to think they brought him on as something of a consultant for that exact reason: he’s had experience and he’s a perfect choice to make sure the dialogue matches as best it can.

This… makes it absolutely beyond hilarious… if you know the role he’s most acclaimed for! Here’s just a sampling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DrAp5gzdqc Go hunt the rest of the show down if you got the time. It deserves to be seen!

Once that realisation clicked, he was the heart of the show for me! This role (and a couple later he also takes) are not roles you’d ever expect this guy to try, and he absolutely owns them! Especially one character in season 2, who for the whole last act is an absolute blast anytime he’s on screen!

I know a lot of people aren’t gonna search it up, and the joke here is probably lost on them either way. But since I haven’t seen anybody else connect these dots, I felt utterly compelled!

So here we have what could’ve been a very different take indeed on the time master Nox, quite literally mincing his words! What a series we could’ve gotten had Arthur been allowed to channel a few of his past experiences into the role, eh? Ah well, something to save for if we ever see an abridged series, I suppose!

Nox and the Sadida are from Wakfu and Dofus © Ankama games. If you like them, support the games and the show however you can!
