Someone has chosen incredibly poorly, now we're all going to pay the price. Those goddamn hips, tho! Hnnnnngh.

Someone get her to a buffet. Appease with some food. Sure there's something fried well done in the back there.

Funny thing? When you posted this, or rather when I came across it, there was a storm rumbling in these parts. Added a nice touch.

          storms are awesome <3

Some of my favorite weather. Back when I was living in Barbados my favorite thing to do was to strip down, go out on our garage roof and just lay there. Long as it was not to terrible.

Comes from one of the first episodes, sorry.

The way you do crotch bulge is amazing.

thanks! <3 i like to do that packed in look without giving too much detail away n.n

I do too. I like the way you do it. The girls are hyper-endowed both above and below, but it doesn't look silly, just unnatural. Supernatural, even.

        • Link

          i guess silly is in the eye of the beholder but yeah i wouldnt want them to look silly - ive been worried that my sense of proportion is all out of whack - if you look at my old art then you can see how everyone keeps growing and GROWING n.n;

          • Link

I thought that was part of your shtick, although I admit it wasn't my point of interest and I tended not to bother looking at it. Your newer stuff interests me more.

Doc Wednesday is still my favorite among your characters, because she looks supernatural, not ridiculous. Most hyper furries look ridiculous, because the artist just piles on more and more without figuring out where the more is supposed to go. You pile it on more carefully, and stop before it goes too far. This restraint makes the proportions "work" even though they exceed the natural.

It's the same reason that Chun Li's oversized thighs still "work" with her character, while the Amazon from Dragon's Crown just looks silly.

Also the fact you don't draw the character's heads tiny (tiny heads make the rest of the character look bigger) helps keep the rest of the character "in check."

            • Link

weeeell (still playing the devils advocate) i do draw heads smaller in relation to the body than is normal - or draw bodies larger compared to the head - or something - but there is a limit to how far you can go with this before it starts to look silly - and i have seen some really extreme examples where there is a wee tiny head on a really huge body ^.^ so i know what you mean

i actually have a tough time doing hyper stuff because i can be really hung up on whether or not something makes logical sense - in this case whether it is physically possible - and that can really interfere with my ability to do stylized work or fanciful subject matter - although it helps to keep things mechanically accurate - but it can even impede that - if you take a look at Naoki's work youll see he renders a lot of very convincing tech even though in essence its very fantastic - thats what you can do when you have versatility in approach and i would really like to be able to do what he does n.n he is also reeeeally good at hyper too <3

and yeah - except when i do a departure from her usual look i try to keep Weds of a size and shape where she could actually be someone you might meet in real life - even if her combination of ideal attributes is highly unlikely n.n

              • Link

I find that amazingly quaint t that despite your subject mater and how big everything is, you keep it in the realm of the possible or very least think about it. I suppose that is why it is so appealing. It look 'unnaturally natural'

              • Link

Actually you draw the heads very large in comparison to the body, like most furry artists. Animal heads don't look "right" unless they're a bit larger than a comparable human head. Although you do draw them much smaller than most furry artists would.

There are good hyper artists, but as you say they know how to keep it "plausible." Not real, but "plausible." They keep it from going way beyond what your eyes and brain are willing to believe. But they are rare, because doing so is very difficult. It's about pushing the boundaries, not breaking through them. And it requires restraint, which most people who are into hyper don't much care for.

I'd love to see more Wednesday stuff now that you're back to it, but I'm happy with whatever you produce :)

Serious vibes of X-men here! Not in a bad way, Storm wasn't my favorite but she was pretty up there.
I like the way the light is playing with her body, but I wonder how she would look, with all that electricity coursing through the air. Maybe a bit fuzzy, static electricity and all, Heheh.
