Universe concept piece: Planet Earth

Oh lordy this is late. I've been very inconsistent actually drawing or uploading things to anywhere except my main 3 hub (tumblr, twitter and Deviantart). Finally getting on the ball getting everything updated elsewhere!

I think next time I do a piece like this I'll make it less expansive in the sheer size of the scene. Anyway I decided to start off with the less intriguing but what could be consider the hub world of my sci fi: our planet. Specifically the smallest province of the magical land of Canada known as Prince Edward Island.
I picked it because that's where I grew up and I figured I've only seen maybe 2 narratives ever that take place there so it could use more. There is just have 1 original cartoon involving mice and probably 2000 versions of Anne of Green Gables, that's it as far as I know! So yeah got some photos together and based this drawing loosely on one of the better sights I came across.

PEI is a boring but pretty place with reddish soil, trees and potatoes. There is a lot of fishing there because ocean; you're literally never far from a beach but its not a tropical island so you can't really enjoy them for half of the year.
The province was essentially unchanged by the awareness of alien life in my story. There's usually only 3 species that may show up there and two are seen here... well kinda. Grey saucers are seen from time to time like they are basically everywhere on Earth now and Wayok are studying the marine life of Earth so a small number of them are around swimming around this province only showing up at harbours and such during the summer months just to say hello to the locals (as seen here). The last species isn't the other alien in the image because Darwin is the only one of maybe 2 of their species to EVER come to Earth but Kisob'ae that tend to come to PEI as tourists.

Final note the water on PEI does have a reddish tone to it on top of the usual blue cuz the soil. It took some effort and lucky accidents to get it looking ok. I deserve points for actually going full on in making the landscape accurate!

That background o_O I thought it was computer-generated or a photomanip at first, waaaay too many trees for one man to draw!

Oh, the you're the second person from PEI I've met. That explains things a bit - the other guy had interesting ideas too...

D: oh goodness those trees! I did cheat in a way and copy past many of them but I did have to do editing and so forth to vary their size/colour to make things not look too lazy.
Holy crap how, no one fucking lives here??? Lol kidding aside glad they're creative as well xP I'd love to see if they produce a story that takes place here as well as noted it needs more than just another adaption of Anne of Green Gables.

Actually, he said he was going to, had an opening describing PEI as something that gave birth to Canada (since it was colonized first, which I did not know), I do not remember it exactly but it was brilliant.

:3 Awesome! But yeah this is indeed the province where that all went down, its pretty neat stuff.
