Finally had a chance to make a reference pull of the dragon paws, using some leftover colored latex. I wanted to experiment with layering the markings, and I'm pretty happy with how these came out.
This is right out of the molds, flashing and all. No paint, that's all in the latex.
I'll post photos when they're cleaned up.

I brushed the first three (very thin) layers - experimenting with how the color comes through with the translucency of the latex. There's only two colors of latex used in these.
The black scales with colored edges was exactly what I was trying for :)

Interesting technique. I'm curious about how the facets of the scales are black but edges are colored. Did you brush any of the coats onto the interior of the mold or is that just how the pour worked out?
