I've seen you around a bit on the forums - you're very kind & modest (I know, random eheh~ ;3). Really digging your artwork; just finished skimming through your most recent journal and found out you've even got a comic going (definitely checking it out after)! Lookin' forward to seeing more from you (well once after you've settled a bit in Alaska - good luck btw with everything!). :)

Hello there! Saw your artwork finally and I absolutely love how well you capture wolves. :D Between the anatomy, coloring, and complimentary strokes and patterns to the feel of the pieces, your work is lovely. :D
I've tried coloring traditionally, but the best I can work with are tempra paints, and that's for really basic work. Colored pencils and the like just do not like me. XD

      Hey you! <3
Thank you so much for taking the time to view my page! And I'm ever grateful for your thoughtful comment! <33 I always try something new with each of my works, from brushes, to style, to layering, and anything else XD I still enjoy doing traditional when I can, but the supplies cost so friggan much so I tend to stick with digital. Ooh! I don't think I've ever tried that kind pf paint before, what's it like?

Whew, I'm so sorry the reply took so long! D:
You're more than welcome, and with an icon like yours I just had to take a lookie-see. :D I try to do something new, but there are many times when what I'm used to flows better. If I attempt something new, it bothers me and makes me not like it, but when I do what I'm used to there's something new that comes out of it that I really like. XD
I wish I could say it was a very fancy paint, but tempra is what is used in school classrooms. XD It's the paint that can be washed off and is easily replaced because of how cheap it is. XD The only time I've painted was in the classroom, so those are the only sort of paints I'm really used to. I tried working with acrylics, but the color is so heavy I don't know how to really work with it. XD

Oh thanks!! I didn't do much for for my icon, lazily cropped it from a picture of mine XD
I understand what you mean, and really, there is no rush to try every medium out there. Art is also very patient, so it will let us go at our own pace. Working with the same medium until we as artist's feel more comfortable to try another technique is understandable and the clever way to go about it :)
There's nothing wrong using Tempra paints if you enjoy using it :) For a long time I used cheap $3 packs of crayola colored pencils, simply because it was fun to do :) lmao!! I've never used acrylics (always wanted to try tho) but I can see what you mean. I used oil before and although blending was fun it was heavy lol

More than welcome, and that's a good way of doing things. :D If I hadn't this one, I'd do that to one of my drawings too. :3
Art is very patient, you're right, and that's a really good way of putting it. :) I don't know about you, though, but when I try to paint something new or try something new I'm always so afraid that it won't turn out well, so I need to draw it in my sketch book and not let anyone see it. XD That is something I have that I really love for that reason; I have a Boogie Board that lets me draw what ever I like, and then I can press a button and it erases it for me. Great for testing new things and then forgetting about them, but if I like them I can take a picture and keep it for my records. :3
It's odd; tempra feels really thin to me, but I can easily blend them on my palette and as long as I can control my brush they don't blob at all and it's... amazingly nice. XD The last time I used them when I painted a monochromatic purple self-portrait for class, and I'm still proud of it. >w<
