Ohcools. Thanks a bunch! Your work is pretty off the charts, too.

    • Link

Your work is simple, but have something honest, and direct, in it. Those simple shapes makes it - in abstract way - very interesting to me. You're welcome.

I want to be able to digital paint as well as you can someday, your speedpaints are such an asset to my education.

    • Link

Oh? Interesting. As an advice I suggest doing many still lifes and start with traditional art first. Studying life and anatomy. Learning about light and how it behaves in life. This will speed up the "improvement process".

      • Link

That's the advice I always hear. I already do most of that, but I don't have the space in my apartment or the money for traditional paint, and my mom does n't want it in the house where it can cause a mess, so I have no practical way of doing that. One thing I do love to do is figure out how light works, I mean, I love the way you do reflective light which I am currently struggling with in a WIP image but I think I'm getting there. Thanks for replying, I'm flattered you took interest.

If you would like to learn about the light, then I know one, in my opinion, fantastic book. Color and Light by James Gurney. In this post I reblogged, you have a "summary" of the book, it may be helpful for you: http://twarda.tumblr.com/image/31592451393
