Hey Runewuff! :) Sorry for the late reply. For the Weasyl gallery I try to be a bit pickier about what I upload, and the commission piece I did for you... I can't say I was completely happy with it, hence why I didn't put it up here. xD But if you really want it in your collection, I can put it up. Lemme know!

In a twisted way, I'm glad to hear that. I wasn't completely happy with it either, to tell the truth, but once it was drawn and colored, complaining then would have made me one of those infamous commissioners artists grumble about. I thought your style would be a natural fit for my character - so many lean and graceful felines, so many sensual poses. I'm not quite sure what went wrong (I don't have a trained artist's eye) but maybe someday we can try again.

Oh don't feel bad. :) Some pieces just turn out better than others - and as silly as it may sound - sometimes it's actually beyond the artist's control. (I've had plenty of commission pieces that I dreaded because I didn't like the characters or whatnot, but they ended up turning out - and vice versa). I think the more skilled an artist becomes, this "discrepancy" between artworks lessens somewhat (i.e. even a skilled artist would be able to make an art that still looks "great" by average viewer's standard, even if the artist was having an "off" day). But the differences are still definitely there - and artists can usually spot them.
I think for the kind of lean & lithe look you wanted, the pose (forgot if you specified the pose or requested me to come up with one) simply didn't work. I struggled a lot with making it look more dynamic/contorted/"sexy" but it just didn't turn out. We ran into a bit of an issue with coloring, too (because your character is black and the initial coloring attempt didn't have enough contrast).
I am not sure when I'll be opening for commissions again, as after this next round I want to devote my time fully to finishing up my story. But if I do open again and you want your piece redone, I can offer you a decent discount on account that the first piece wasn't satisfactory.

Thank you. I kind of had the same thoughts in the back of my mind - that pose/action and my character don't mix, and I was already thinking along the lines of let's do something completely different.

Before I forget and become buried in the gallery and hard to find, I'm so glad you did those commissions for sharlan, because now I have something to point to and say that's exactly what I want next time. You do lovely reclining pin-ups.
