Yeah I'm still on there, just took down 90% of my gallery and the links to my other art accounts. trying to cut down on the chance of having my art stolen and posted on IMVU.

Do you think that'd really happen!? D: Does IMVU steal artwork? I thought they only did some server stuff for FA.

IMVU's Catalog is all member created the members are the ones stealing. but the only thing in place to help the artists is a DMCA which they don't have to act on immediately. they make a % of what ever the item in the catalog sells for and money from people buying their in game currency. on top of a access pass to see NSFW stuff. so they don't have alot of insentive to react to a DMCA right off. and if you do NSFW art you have to buy an Access pass to police their catalog for them to find your art. so you pretty much have to pay to get it taken down. Very very scummy system. on top of the fear that they could inact an Access pass for FA at any point in time. because they own it now. doesn't matter what puppet they have running the site. they can legally change anything at any time. including the AUP or the ToS

My goodness, what a story! D: Right... Well, I'm not very handy with legal issues in the first place, especially when it's in English, because it's not my first language. Lots of job-specific words are unknown to me. But thank you for your patience and explaining it so carefully to me. I really need to make sure my art is safe... Gosh. And that on top of all the stress I already had. Well, I know what I'll be doing the coming few weeks... Watermark everything! :O

Well, after this talk I asked around on that journal that was made, the Q&A thing, and from what I understood it's users on IMVU that steal the art, so it's not IMVU itself. It's mainly pr0nz that's being stolen, so fortunately for me there's a very small chance my stuff will get stolen. xD However, I am thinking about re-uploading stuff with a watermark, so stealing will be kind of impossible, really. Hopefully that'll work.

That is what I did to mine. and reguardless if its the members IMVU doesn't police its catalog, so if you want to know if your art has been stolen you have to search thousands of items. and if you need to serch the NSFW you have to buy an IMVU access pass.
