Correct. I grew up in Tucson, but moved with my parents to Oklahoma after graduating from high school. Eight years later, I moved from there to Ohio (with a three-month stopover in Flagstaff). I miss my desert a lot sometimes (not to mention the Mexican food and the Eegee's...), but I have some good things going here at the moment, at least. I'm sure I'll make it back to the southwest eventually! :)

Having moved here two years ago from Massachusetts, there are a lot of things I really like such as the absence of snow and the mountains close by, but there are also a lot of things I miss such as proper forests and bodies of water.

You could always go up higher in the mountains to find "proper" forests, or drive north a ways to the Show Low/Pinetop area, or a bit further to Flagstaff. There certainly isn't as much as far as water, for sure, but you're not that far from some large lakes (e.g. Havasu, Powell, etc.) or the Pacific coast of Mexico. The latter is where I first got scuba-certified. :)

Yeah, I really love Mt Lemmon and northern Arizona. I need to spend more time in both of those places :)

I dunno if you heard, but all of Tucson woke up to a minimum if a 1/2 an inch of snow on the ground a few mornings ago. That certainly was a bit different.

Yeah, I saw photos of it on the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Facebook page. Last time I remember that happening was my sophomore year in high school (and 5th grade before that). :P
