Just checkin'. xD
Oh, so I went ahead and grabbed a 2DS for my birthday just before Christmas. Really enjoying Bravely Default, and I loved A Link Between Worlds, too. I got Etrian IV but haven't played it yet, and also SF64 3D. Yay, I can see Bill on handheld. xD

If you let me know before you start EOIV then I can give you some tips. It's one of the easier games in the series but any game from it can be really difficult to get going with if you don't know the "rules," so to speak.
Other games I would recommend include Virtue's Last Reward (which is better if you've played the first game on the DS, 999) and Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Hey, I wanted to ask your advice about getting a new 3DS. I originally had the very first model, but had to sell it a few months ago. Thinking about getting another one. Would you recommend the XL? What about the 2DS? I can't see in 3D, so that feature obviously isn't an issue for me, but I am also worried about screen size. The system I had had an okay screen size-wise, but the battery life was atrocious. Just wondering if you could help me out a little. x3

If you don't mind waiting a few months, your best option is likely going to be the New 3DS. It has better battery life and processing, and some games will actually be exclusive to it (while others will just run better on it). It's not quite a new console but it's basically the 3DS.5.
The screen sizes will actually be the same on both the standard and XL versions, the XL is just bigger and will likely be more comfortable in larger hands. But the standard size has superfamicom colored buttons and looks really cute. Also it has changeable face plates.
If you DON'T want to wait, then I personally love the XL. Larger screen, better battery life. I don't know how it compares to the 2DS but the 2DS has a really uncomfortable design for me. Definitely the best price point, though.

If you're asking about commissions, I don't take them. If you're referring to my two most recent submissions, those were ideas that were suggested to me by someone that I drew because I wanted to. If you want to suggest ideas then you can, but it doesn't guarantee that I'll do it. And by "idea" I mean more than just two character names, it needs some kind of direction.

Hey, it slipped my mind earlier when we've discussed books and things, but you might want to give Neal Stephenson a try if you're in the mood for something complex. I hear his cyberpunk stuff is a little lighter and more humorous/easy to read. I tried to start with Anathem and his erudition was far too heavy-handed for my taste, personally. You might want to give him a shot, especially since you're a philosophy guy and he loves huge novels of ideas.
