Remembering the Reason by Volt Siano

~Luke 2:10-12 (NIV)

"Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today, in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; this is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find the baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

This is a message for all people: God was born for us. God, the Almighty Creator of the universe, came to us, became one of us, became a helpless baby in a dumpy little stable in a hillside. He didn't have to. He could have turned away and left us to wallow in our wickedness and sin. We had turned away from our Creator, and rather than leaving us be--or even destroying us--He came after us. He loved us enough to come to this... junk heap of a world we've made and free us.

He lived a human life: Jesus experienced joy and sadness, pain and healing, hunger and plenty, just as everyone else has. He knows how you feel. He even experienced Death; not just physical death, but spiritual death. He did it so that you don't have to. He took our place, and yes, you may have heard that before, but just think about it: Jesus--God in human form--took the punishment of death that we should have gotten.

The price has been paid; ultimate, compete forgiveness has been offered And He is waiting, watching for you, ready to run as soon as he sees His prodigal son (or daughter) returning home.

Will you accept this Love?
