Moveing to America soonish, any tips? by Mozame Mogki

I will be moving to America at some point in the year to the east coast and was just wonder if anyone would have any tips for someone coming in. I'm in Ireland right now slap bang in the middle of Dublin and figure I'd put it up here as well if anyone would have anything worth saying

hmm, kinda hard to say, I live on the west coast so its different compared to the east. Well, welcome to the states anyway ^^"

oh well I did get a poke around where i was going to be moving to a while ago just a bit of culture shock and home sickness though not to bad but thanks anyway

Where abouts on the east coast? If you're close to me I'd love to meet and help out in any way I could! That being said, be prepared for cold + be prepared for food.

Hm well It will be near the mount laurel area in jersey I was there in september it was hot as hell compared to what i was use to how cold does it normally get Ireland is normally cold enough year round like 3oC to 15oC but very humid year round as for the food what do you mean?

It was partially meant to be a joke about American food being so different and fattening. But anyway, that's actually not too far away from me. It can get somewhat cold but for the most part it stays similar to what you're already used to! So it works out :3

Oh well it's a little blander but as for fattening nothing a little working out can't fix I think the move's gonna be smooth anyhow looking at the plans at least

I haven't spent much time on the east coast, but I see hurricanes/tropical storms go up and across it during the summer/fall seasons, so I guess be prepared for that. Depending on how far north you are on the east coast you'll probably experience a lot of snow and/or ice during the winter. That and I guess be prepared to do a lot of converting, 'cuz we silly Americans don't use the metric system xD

Oh god yeah I remember that even just for temperature I'm so not use to fahrenheit because it flys up and down so quickly compared to celsius and I am going to be moveing in with my girlfriend but I didn't even think about stuff like that so what have something like a "go" bag ready for emergencys?

Omg as someone who uses F only I can understand, I'm used to higher numbers so when someone is flipping out over a C temperature I forget for a second and reply on impulse "that doesn't sound that bad" lol
Yeah, your girlfriend probably knows more than I do about how to be prepared for the local weather. Although it's a good idea in general to have an emergency bag or plans for stuff like that =w=)b

    buy a gun (?)

I wish but jersey gun laws looked incredibly strict

        really? o.o wow...

My best advice, don't move to America. This country's a great big, racist, negative, gun-fanatical oligarchy of a lie. :P

Still sounds better then Ireland atm lol, it's mostly to be together with my girlfriend and her family
