HEY EVERYONE. I'm still alive. Been working on some children's book illustrations, huzzah. Not really stuff I will be posting here (let alone being allowed to at the moment), though. I have some other concepts which will hopefully be appearing soon though. That's the theory at least.

Sorry if it's kind of a scrambled set of thoughts here but obviously I'm not 100% sure how to ask the things I want to ask, or even know if the things I want to know are even an issue, hah.

Anyway, I was wondering, does anyone who watches me on here have experience with airbrushing on fake fur or any other fabric for plushies/fursuits/whatever or have a friend who does? Specifically looking for info on painting fine details and patterns on short pile fur to pretty much flat surfaces (fleece), and how much can be painted on a surface without killing it into a blobby acrylic mess. Basically I'm trying to figure out whether I'd be able to reasonably replicate this bird (click!) onto a white fur base that's maybe 6" to 10" tall. It has 90% of the concepts I'm interested in so it seemed like a good enough example, but the face textures don't have to be quite so crazy . Also suggestions for cheap but reliable sewing machines that'd don't go into failure mode with fake fur and/or fleece/whatever also would be useful -- and same deal for airbrush setups. How do you protect eyes/nonpainted parts? Just mask them somehow?

I have (what I consider) an awesome thing I want to do but obviously no experience nor connections to inform me of whether it'd work. So yeah, if you or someone you know happen to know the answers to this or know of a website with said info, let me know? Honestly I'd prefer a live, friendly person to question about it in more detail, but hey, I'm not gonna be too picky if the info is floating around the internettubes and I'm just entering the wrong words into Google.
