I just finished revising three chapters tonight.
So much awkward prose! So many ideas that went nowhere! So many punches pulled! So many loose ends to clean up from earlier revisions!
But it's all starting to come together. I'm spotting flaws I didn't notice when I was rushing to finish the book in 2013-2014, and even problems I had missed when I went over it in the later half of 2014.
I'm really hoping that this time, I'll have it right.
By the way, I won't say who, but I have decided to make one of the characters trans. This was a character I needed to involve more in the story, and this decision gives her additional scenes and dialogue that develop her as a character and add a subtle bit of symmetry to the story. It will make sense when you read it, I promise!
