I’m so scared for my puppy by Zentina

I know she’s going to have to get surgery on her ACL, I’m prepared for that. They said it may have been a slight tear, and that there was no need for surgery if it was a few fibers and after taking it easy with some anti-inflammations, the remaining fibers will take over where the others were severed and basically become stronger.

But I’v watched her the last few weeks and we’ve had so many problems. The first medication was Novox, and although her personality didn’t change much, she was experiencing side effects. Namely, she couldn’t control her bowels and would defecate where she stood without even realizing it was happening until she already started. She wasn’t able to let us know she needed to go or anything. Luckily it was solid and didn’t stick.

We called the vet and told them about her accidents, and how also she’s been dragging her foot more and folding her metatarsals over and walking on her “knuckle.” Think ‘ape” but only her back left leg. And she was also turning her foot in when she walked. My vet was gone for the day, so a vet tech had to assist me and god she talked a mile a minute.

I picked up Tromadol from them as a replacement, and omg. My poor dog has been high as a kite for days: she’ll stare at a wall for 15 min straight, will fall asleep with her body on the floor but her head erect, she’ll stand in one spot and stare until you get her attention. She sleeps in spurts and doesn’t eat much if at all (the latter is a very recent development). Also, she is dragging her leg so much more on this drug.

I’m so scared for her. She’s not even 2 years old.
