What's the most famous food dish to be found in the Carpathian Mountains?

Hard to say which, we have several recipes which are very popular around here.
There are the "Mici" (Little Ones) which basically look like little turds which are, however, unbelievably delicious and used as grill/barbecue food in combination with beer.

Then there is the Sângerete. Imagine a sausage filled with blood. That is exactly what the Sângerete is.

Other than that, the most popular dishes around here are pork-related recipes. Pork is very popular here, especially around Christmas.

A juice that is popular and traditional here is the Elderflower juice/cordial.

Here is Transylvania, we have the Gulaș, which is Hungarian-inspired due to the fact that the region is basically a big cultural mix between Romanian, Hungarian and German/Saxon/Austrian cultures leading to a homogeneous and unique Transylvanian culture.
Gulaș is a type of stew with meat and potatoes, as well as paprika sometimes. Delicious, I tell you.

We have a local food dish called "varză de Cluj" (Cluj Cabbage) which is sauerkraut with mashed pork meat, rice, and other stuff.

There is more, most certainly, but these are about the ones I remember at this moment.

Ah, yes. I had gulaș (or, rather, a variant thereof, which I guess they spell guláš) when I was in Prague. You could get it everywhere, even in Chinese take-out restaurants. Always served with potato dumplings over there, and always very good.

        Those mici look pretty amazing.

What is the most "gross" food you've tried?

    • Link

      Expired milk and moldy bread.
Those I have tried involuntarily so that makes it even more disgusting.

    Hope I'm not too late!
    Sword, Spear or Dagger?...

      Hmmm...
Honestly, my expertise lies in sword and shield, gladius and scutum to be precise.
I find myself at quite the difficulty in choosing between the three, however, as all of them serve a particular and meticulous purpose, that is unique from the others. Ideally, I would carry all three, alongside a shield, and in doing so, I would feel secure knowing that I could handle virtually any combat situation pertaining to warfare up until the 10th century.

From the 10th century onward, warfare changes, and full-body armour are adopted alongside an emphasis on shock cavalry, turning it into the victory formula for every battle, thus giving the rise to the knight.
This will render the sword useless. And instead of it, I would use the Morningstar as that would make its way through armour.
Spears and Daggers would definitely be used still, although they would suffer improvements.

I am derailing too much now, I am afraid.

To answer your question, eloquently so, I must say that I cannot choose between the three.
