Story Challenge; YOUR INPUT NEEDED! by Domnul Eduard

Frankly, this summer heat does quite an effective job at melting all my motivation down, thus, after intrinsic deliberation I came with the idea of another personal story challenge in order to make my nights more entertaining in an attempt to forget of the summer heat, and hopefully, you will come to find the finished product entertaining as well.

Here is what my nebulous mind contrived:

  • Deliver a word, an idea, a character, anything that you want, and after, say, 24 hours starting now, I will round up all the comments and use them all in a story. Basically, I will use everything inputted as an inspiration for a story.

This will be fun. Let your imagination be wild, because I guarantee you, mine will.

All in all, I figure this will prove to be an exquisite literary exercise for me, and possibly a tackle against literary surrealism.

BALLISTA.

Sci-fi: Gauss round, a .50 BMG ammunition with integrated super-propellant and an electrostatic vacuum driver. The speed and range of the bullet is increased by an order of magnitude. Sniper rifles made for Gauss rounds have a range of about 5.000 - 10.000 meters, allowing sharpshooters to easily damage or take down slow-moving airplanes or armored cars at a great distance.
Horror: Leptirica, a vampire horror story. First Yugoslav horror movie, filmed in 1973. Has a cult following, and many people here regard it the scariest movie of all times.

I would set this story in the Arctic, a land with nothing but the blistering cold.

Sparkyopteryx

Is it alright if I also offer an image that may spark some inspiration? Some conceptual photography: Here
And a second, folkloric bit of ephemera:
Hammering coins into trees is an ancient tradition in the north west part of the UK in Cumbria and the north of Wales in the village of Portmeirion. According to a research conduction completed by the BCC, this practice is said to date back to the early 18th century in Scotland. It was believed that if people hammered florins into trees, it would cure them of their sickness.

If it's not too late, I would like to see you incorporate the stars or some other entity of the cosmos as a conscious entity in the story.

Okay, here's two ideas you can pick from:

lol, I love how this progresses so far.

I mean, your conceptual photography and Feraldraco's prompt just above...

This is going to be the best fun I'll ever have.

I await what monstrous concoction all of these prompts end up creating!
