FA, Weasyl, Drama and stuff by Foxena

I like FA, I like Weasyl. Do i find that the moderation staff of FA is a little overzealous in some instances and painfully inactive in others? Yes.

However. People cannot reasonably expect for FA to take actions in legal matters between two users. The stalking incident, while unfortunate, was not under FA's jurisdiction to do anything.

If Someone is stalking you, block them on every venue you can that they know of. call the police and inform them of thier behaviour, get a lawyer and write up a restraining order. It is not the job of any website you frequent to play police when there are far stronger methods you can take. As a victim of s cyber stalker, I can attest the above measures i took worked.

My accessment of Weasyl so far is awesome, however the upload policy of one copy of a submission only is a little irksome as I pride myself on being able to allow my clients to upload thier work, but would also like to upload it myself. It helps with exposure of what i can do to people who otherwise wouldn't see it and also allows me to showcase what i can do for potential clientelle. A policy i hope is changed, I understand "collections" but its very hard to keep track of who's uploaded things on thier own and what you can upload yourself if you don't know who is/isn't on Weasyl. I'd like to be able to upload my arwork without having to track down everyone i've ever done a commission for and say "hey have you uploaded this on weasyl?" You can understand this is a little taxing.

I'd say if your going to have a limit of how many times a peice of artwork can be uploaded mark it as twice and/or have a dropdown menu you can choose from "This is the only copy of this artwork allowed to be uploaded" or "this is a commission and can be uploaded again by one other user" (probably less wordy than that but that would solve the problem. This allows artists to protect thier personal artwork from being stolen and used by other users AND allows for commisioners/artists to both display the work they bought/worked hard on.

Have you checked out the collections option? I haven't all that much myself, but it may be what you're looking for.

" I understand "collections" but its very hard to keep track of who's uploaded things on thier own and what you can upload yourself if you don't know who is/isn't on Weasyl."

I already mentioned the collections, and my arguments are valid. If i don't know who is here and what they've posted, it becomes problematic for me to track everyone down.

Hello! Just to let you know, we've updated the wording on https://www.weasyl.com/help/collections to remove restrictions on multiple uploads! The Collections system is still recommended, but we want to make sure you're getting full usage first! Go ahead and upload!
