So funfact about me, apparently my some-number-of-greats uncle was basically the founder of Branson, Missouri. After that basically none of my family moved from there. If you haven't been to Branson, I can describe it generally as a hell of minigolf courses and duck themed busses where 90% of things can be readily categorized as a combination of country and tacky. It's hilly enough that you can't see most traffic, which is questionably mended by the fact that traffic basically never moves anyway. It does, however, have a lot of good old-timey candy shops and a decent theme park if your into that (Silver Dollar City, not the other one, the other one sucks major balls).
But like I said, most my family lives there and I rarely ever visit anyone (At all. Ever.) so I'm poppin over to show my face at least once before they die. I'm specifically visiting my aunt and and uncle who are an artist and a writer/beekeeper, respectively. and probably the only family, besides immediate family, that I trust being around as a trans person. Also they have an awesome garden. SO I'll be distracted by alla that instead of work the next few days.
I had forgotten to expect lots of confederate flags, but at least there's lots of endless, forested hills and clay-filled cliffs left over from cutting through the land to make the highways. It's a rather pretty ride.
I know, right? Unfortunately it was like 95 degrees out and I couldn't sit out there and enjoy it TnT there were tons of bunnies and squirrels and crows to watch through the window, though!
