It's a bit of a half-baked feature, yeah. Hopefully they'll do something more with it in the future.

It's useful for having private submissions that are friends only, but that's probably not a feature most artists would use.

I tend to accept friend requests when it's someone I know or follow the work of cause hey whatevs, I know them. But its feature isn't something I'd use since, if I WAS making private friends-only images, I'd probably just link it to them in private anyway haha

While I use it a little, it does seem to be just empty social networking filler with no real function. I... guess it makes it easier for others to tell who you're most comfortable with? Not sure how that's useful, though.

Sounds reasonable. I didn't even give thought to there being a friend system, but I doubt I'll be using it either. :P

It's for friends-only art and journal submissions. The latter being the most useful part of it I think.

The "Friends" system is a duplicate of how it works on LiveJournal. I use it as intended, to pass art to a limited distribution list of people, for art I do not want to be widely distributed.

I thought the friends feature was there so that you can "watch" them without having to see their art submissions. I wish I could do that on FA. It's one thing to read your friends journals, but its another thing to see their porn. O_o
