  • Attendance:

I printed 100 bingo cards prior to the con and there were 19 left over when we were done. Not everyone who came to the event wanted to participate, so we easily had more people than cards were distributed. At one point, I counted about 70 people in the room. I think it's safe to say we had as many, if not more, attendees than last year!

  • City of Townsville:

I kind of neglected to prepare much in the way of buildings to stomp, thankfully people brought a bunch of stuff including plastic cars, Rogue's innocent bystanders, trains, planes, etc. Next year I may put out more of a call for toys and such.

  • Room layout:

The chairs were set up like a lecture when we got there, which wasn't very conducive to fursuiters and mingling, but we seemed to deal with it OK. I had asked for a "classroom" layout, but the room was set up with rows of chairs in more of a "presentation" or "lecture" arrangement. There was a panel after us and I didn't want to inconvenience them, so we left it as is.

  • Bingo prizes:

We collected 27 completed sheets and lots of people won stuff! I guess we'll have to make it harder next year. I don't have the exact count, but it was at least 12 people. Please contact the artist or writer if your card was picked.

  • Future improvements:

Any and all feedback is welcome! A banquet table layout would be preferable. Perhaps a new game to promote networking and socializing. There's a whole year to think on it and plan. Thanks again everyone!

Sorry to have missed it, but I was busy working in the Alley! Looks like a fun time.

Also, hey, I see DNA in there! I missed him the entire con; I didn't think he'd attended.

Had fun! We need to make the bingo cards more macro related~ :3

Any examples of things you'd want to do?

      • Link

Off the top of my head, no. But it would be fun to come up with some goofy macro-ish ones. Maybe.

That was a pretty awesome meetup. I got quite a few pictures, especially ones of a micro pov of the fursuiters looming and stomping. There's also a nice sequence in here of Rogue slowly stepping down on the viewer. XD

Sorry I didn't get to chat much with you. There was so many people and you seemed kinda busy, hehe.

This album also includes pics I took at the macro/micro room party afterwards BTW. (mainly drawings on the whiteboard)

Icydragon wasn't even there for the panel, but was waiting for the next, but he obliged me with a stomp pic too. :3

As for the room layout, I think having a single row of chairs arranged around the walls facing the middle, with the middle of the room being open for mingling and having the tiny city there would be a good idea next year. What do you think?

Do you also attend Rainfurrest? I've got a friend wanting to have macro/micro events, and was thinking of maybe hosting something. What all goes into setting up a panel? I may be interested in helping with one there.

Yeah, sorry about the room layout. I completely agree with you that a big open area with chairs around the perimeter would be better. I don't attend Rainfurrest, but there's nothing stopping you or anyone else from contacting the con staff and asking about running a panel.

Man, maybe if I can make it to MFF this year (if there's a macro room) I can come visit!

Do it again next year, and ask for chairs around the perimeter or something less cumbersome. Otherwise was great getting to bump into a number of familiar names, and a few familiar faces.
