Anthrocon Report! - LET ME KNOW IF YOU SAW ME/MY WORK PLZ by SpartaDog

Back from AC!

I had an absolutely AMAZING con. I was a little concerned because I didn't do very well last year. I'd been stuck with a half table shoved in a corner so I had no idea what to actually expect with a well-placed full table lol. But I did great! I don't want to say exactly how much I made but let's just say I blew my previous con record out of the water by a long shot. Just a matter of time before my boo can visit and I can move out to be with him c: I also got a few people who said they may be interested in buying Anya if I still have her in a few months, and considering she came home with me, yes, I do lol

This was also my first year submitting to the art show. I sold 9 out of 12 pieces, the three unsold ones being, unsurprisingly, the most expensive. I may keep them around as table decorations for a bit, but I'll probably sell them online or something at some point. The issue is that they had high starting bids, but I'm not comfortable letting them go for anything less than what I set them at. Honestly I'm not too disappointed those three didn't sell, because I really like them, and NINE OTHER PIECES SOLD. Three quarters of what I submitted. That still just....blows my mind lol. If you got one of the pieces, please let me know! I have no other way of finding out who got them!

Sales and business aside, I had an absolutely fantastic time. I got to see a bunch of good friends, make a few new ones, the whole shebang. Keedot and Sookta dragged me to Sharp Edge and Nicky's Thai and made me try new things, both of which were pretty good. Especially that Thai food. I had the crab rangoons and vegetable pad thai and ugh. So good. I also managed to keep my workload relatively manageable and was able to get to sleep at a reasonable time. I think this is the first con where I wasn't regularly going to bed around 3 - 4 am and getting up at 7. It was nice, gonna have to try it again lol

I also got to actually go suiting! And I mean actually go suiting, not just wear a fursuit. I've obvs worn both my suits before, but this was the first opportunity I've had to have fun with it, like getting into character and interacting with people (both suiters and otherwise). I also tried going silent in Sparta for the first time, and I really like it. It's a lot harder but way more fun and engaging. Unfortunately Sparta's jaw actually broke Sunday night :c I haven't had a chance to look at it closely yet but I think the screw just came loose and it should be an easy fix. However Kee also made me an offer that's proving very difficult to refuse lol. So things may be happening on that front.

ANYWHO. It was a fantastic con, I'm so glad it didn't turn into last year, and I'm already excited for next year! In the mean time though, I have FAU, Furpocalypse, and Anthro New England to prepare for.

If I saw you at my table, you won one of my pieces in the art show, or you got photos of me in suit, please let me know! I'd love to know who you all are!

I love both of the pieces I got from you! Butterfox will be on my wall in my apartment shortly. :3

I'm so happy for you, with everything going really well in the way of sales. Your art is awesome.

I won't be editing/uploading my photos for a little bit, but when I do, I'll definitely send them your way!
