I guess it figures that, after struggling to find interested suiters, Mother Nature wouldn't cooperate either and we got near-constant rain all weekend. Plans to join yesterday's walk were scrubbed (along with the original walk), and today's fursuiting plans, well...
...I went, but the concert was moved indoors, and only a small group showed up (between the Pride Parade and people avoiding downtown due to crowds and weather). I did get some other activities done, but went home earlier than originally planned.
That said, I'm already looking for more opportunities to dog all over T-dot; turns out I was tipped off on a couple new ones with announcements last week on Twitter!
The pair of events are called Open Streets Toronto, and are a pair of Sunday mornings where organizers close two major downtown thoroughfares for a few hours. Visitors get around on foot, bicycle, skateboard, roller skates, or any other means that doesn't involve motorized vehicles.
In addition, at various sections along the closed roadways, other activities get laid out - sidewalk chalk, dance and exercise classes, sports, musical recitals, tours, arts and crafts...
I attended one of the events last year, and crowds were light enough that I could navigate quickly from one end of the grounds to the other, and it strikes me that this would be a kid- and fursuit-friendly event. Weather permitting, I'd love to give it a try, especially if others are also interested.
The catch is, it's a Sunday morning. The whole thing runs from 9 am to 1 pm (it was 8-12 last year). Given how so many other fursuit events work, everyone would be arriving after it ends :P
Still, it's worth a shot...

Sept. 6th, huh....
I should be back in Canada by then. Toronto's going to be a bit far for a day trip from Ottawa, but it's still doable. Or, can I stay at your place overnight?
I can't promise anything yet though - I'm planning to sign up for driving school, which might have classes on Sundays.
