Work has been extra stressful because of some high school-esque cliquey drama bullshit, and I want no part of it. I'm all out of fucks to give, and right now I'm just biding my time until I can find a better job or until I just say "Fuck this" and walk out and never return.
In the mean time I want to get back into doing commissions just in case I get to my breaking point before I find another job. However, this time around I want to try something a little different if no one is opposed.
A few years ago I tried being an art slave for the first time. I wasn't fully prepared and ended up an art slave for someone who wanted a mile long list of art for as little money as possible. I've learned from that mistake and I have a better idea of what to do. So expect a formal journal with all the information in a few minutes.
I get nervous about bringing my prices up because it deters a lot of people, and I'm still in the process of building my audience back up since I've moved on from my first account.Though you're absolutely right. I'll mull it over and see what I can do about my prices. I need to stop helping saturate the market with cheap art..

I'm sure you could get away with charging a little more for your work. I understand how the art slave thing could be a good thing for artists gaining traction, but you're not exactly starting out; you should be remunerated properly for your work. I'm sure it's like a lot of roles where you take responsibility for your own work, there's a bit of a learning curve to knowing what you can do in what time and how much that time is worth; make sure your own time is rewarded properly. :)
