A good Thumbnail by Fairbank
I really like the thumbnail generation tool on this site, but folks, you don't use it to create a pretty picture. You're using it to convey information about another picture.
Creating a thumbnail which is just a close up of the character's head delivers nothing. Use it in a way which gives a decent idea about the image content!

The thumbnail feature might be one of the weaknesses of the site, and it's not because of the feature (which is excellent if used properly), but because from what I've seen, too many people don't know how to create a good thumbnail.
So you end up with a lot of "what is this?" and no one wants to click on it because no one can tell what it is. So naturally, no one views your images, and you get no views or feedback overall, and you complain that you get no feedback here and you're not going to spend any more time here, when it could very well be you crippling yourself.

I agree. It's a great tool, but is not used correctly unfortunately. Such a shame.
