Argh, videogames. by waterdragon1657

I was just WAITING for Aliens: Colonial Marines to come out. I had even planned to spend some of the christmas money that I would get on pre-ordering it to get whatever bonuses/content they would give for the PC version. As fate would have it, I spent most of it on getting a few games on Steam, and the rest on keys for chests in DotA 2 (yeah yeah, cosmetics shmosmetics). Because of that (and the fact that I got wrapped up in other games), I never pre-ordered or even thought about Colonial Marines until the day after it released. Since I was curious as to what one of my favorite reviewers, Angry Joe thought about it, I looked it up on Youtube to see it. He put it out right for me that the game's singleplayer lacked a lot of the content it should have had after 5 years of developing (though after the monstrosity that was Duke Nukem Forever, I doubt time makes things better 100% of the time, more like 80%), and the multiplayer was kind of good.

I've been playing Vindictus recently, and now Firefall more recently, and they're both great games. Although Firefall is still in beta and needs an invite, once you get one, you'll probably fall in love with the game. Vindictus' combat system is awesome, being an action type of gameplay similar to a game like God of War or DMC where you can dodge enemy attacks by moving out of the way while getting combos for the damage. Best thing is that all the paid content does for Vindictus is give players aesthetic changes, an ability to heal damage right away, revive without Phoenix Feathers, and have a pet who gives small buffs or helps out in battle. There are a few items that give small stats, but it's small enough to not be noticeable. (Like +500 DEF while most armor sets give over 13k of DEF towards the high levels)
