FHL PLAYER VOTE: Veteran GP Cost Scailing by FHL

Hello and Welcome to All Players, GMs, Fans and Commissioners. I welcome you to the final player vote for Season 4 of the FHL. This vote is a determination of rescailing of growth point costs for veteran players into the future, so as to better control growth.

Before we begin, we must quickly congratulate the Salt Lake City Killer Bees on the late season rise, and roll through the playoffs as they went on their way to becoming this years Furry Cup Champions. A Hearty congratulations to you and may you have good luck on an attempt to repeat next year.

With that said, let us get into the gist of the vote:

REASONING TO VOTE

It has come to our attention that over the past couple seasons, that due to how the system functions as a whole, there is a minor issue with power creep in the game. In certain cases, players have quickly amassed large amounts of growth points over the past few seasons, and due to this, have ended up with stat levels high above the average for the league. Due to this, many of those players are playing at a much stronger level than others, and due to this, gaining the strongest chances for performance rewards, thus increasing their ability to grow into the next season, and thus increase the gap from the average, increasing the problem more.

While the League is not Stygian having such "Elite" players among them, it has come to the commissioners opinions that the rate at which such players are growing is too fast. While we do encourage growth, we also feel that it should be a challenge over time for players to grow at the same rate as they get better.

It is due to this feeling that the Growth Point Scailing Systems that is proposed is being voted on today.

CAREER GROWTH POINTS, PERKS AND GP SCAILING.

The Growth Point Scailing System is based on a couple variables:

  1. The number of growth points a player has purchased during their career(Also known as Career Growth Points)
  2. The number of Perks purchased during their career(exempting Weasley)
  3. The vote scaling number for purchasing GP after a certain point.

Finding the these numbers are simple. At the start of a players career, a player will have 736 Build Points in total among all 10 stats(Goalies have 372, tho that will be changing to 736 during the Off-season, more on that in a later journal). For each growth point a player purchased with XP, that number goes up by one, as each growth point adds 1 to one of their base statistical stats.

Thus to find a players Career GP, you simply take the sum on a players Base stats, and subtract it from 736. This shows your current CGP(barring any negatives from age penalties)

With the CGP known, the scaling can be calculated by taking your Career GP, subtracting 12, adding 3 for each perk purchased, then multiplying that number by the voted scaling number. Or in math form (CGP-12+3*Perks)*Scale. This determined how much extra Experience it will cost a player to purchase a Growth Point. For example a player at 20 CGP with 1 Perk with a scailing of 50 would lead to an equation of (20-12+3)*50 or 11*50 or +550 XP, or adding the based 1550XP to purchase their 21st Growth Point, thus costing them more to go higher.

With that in mind, there are two portions of the Scailing to be voted on. The first part is how the scailing with affect off season expenditures. There are two options.

Dynamic: For each CGP spent after 12 for a player, the next GP costs an additional +X XP, based on scale decided in second part of vote

Fixed: At the start of the off season, a players CGP is checked, and for the entire off season, GPs cost 1000+X, where X is Career Growth Points -12.

The second portion of the vote is be to determine the value of the scale or X. There are 4 options(with example scaliling):

+10XP/CGP+Perk*3 over 12 (CGP 22: 1100, CGP 32: 1200, CGP 42:1300)
+25XP/CGP+Perk*3 over 12 (CGP 22: 1250, CGP 32: 1500, CGP 42:1750)
+50XP/CGP+Perk*3 over 12 (CGP 22: 1500, CGP 32: 2000, CGP 42:2500)
+100XP/CGP+Perk*3 over 12 (CGP 22: 2000, CGP 32: 3000, CGP 42: 4000)

When voting for the second section, vote for what you think would be the best level.

As with the 2 Line vote, final voting will be by player majority. Players are also allowed to vote for Status Quo(No Change), tho we feel such a vote would only lead to more issues in the coming season. Voting will close at 11:59 Eastern on Friday June 19th. With that, good luck to all in voting.
