Yeah, soooo... by Pegasus316

I'm alive and junk!

I'm also still drawing! Posted something to prove it! ;)

I'm ALSO a horrible diabetic. For those not in the know, I was in the ER back in November because, in my naive attempt at doing the right thing and actually taking my insulin, I took too much and ended up giving myself a blood sugar level of roughly 25. We found this out after Gaby had to call 911 to get someone down here to stop me from literally banging my head against a wall whilst undergoing a hypoglycemic seizure... I don't recall any of this, of course. But, I can only imagine how terrified Gaby must have been. :\

In the midst of trying to put myself in better stead, I found myself, that following April, enduring a sinus infection. Pretty bad one, too. The type that makes you teeth hurt. Well, it ended up requiring antibiotics, which MOSTLY did their job (the pain isn't as bad now, but I still have it TWO MONTHS LATER). The headaches had now switched from the front of my head behind my left eye to the back of my head, behind my everything. After a CT scan showed that I still had the sinus infection (the entire left side of my face was clouded out in the image that resulted), it was recommended that I see an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist.

Unfortunately, before I could get that far, the TIA hit.

"What's a TIA, Adam?"

Well, I'm so happy that you asked, Mr. Disembodied-Voice-That-I-Hope-Isn't-Actually-In-My-Head!

"T.I.A." stands for "Transient Ischemic Attack". A fairly fancy term that means I had sort of a less severe version of a mini-stroke. There was a blockage in my brain for a split second, which caused a few minutes of numbness, drooping and slurred speech. In other words, I turned into Dick Clark for about 3 or 4 minutes... what? Too soon?

After a day and a half in the hospital and a couple days rest, I was finally back on my feet and feeling much better. The tests all showed there was no permanent damage, no internal bleeding, no blockages of any kind. So, while it was LIKE a mini-stroke, it wasn't one because I didn't have the internal signs to point toward it happening again. So, a TIA is like a mini-stroke that can literally happen to anyone. No pre-existing conditions need to be met first for it to happen.

Since then, I've just been dealing with that same sinus infection. Albeit, I WILL say that at least it's less severe. But, neti pots aren't helping (though, I admit, I need to give it more time), Claritin only kills the symptoms for a few hours, and that ENT specialist isn't gonna book him or herself. So, I guess I'd better finally get on that. >_<

Anywho, I hope everyone else's Spring has been good! XD

Seeya in the eventual streams! :D

Yeah, soooo...
