It's that rare time of year where I actually open for public commissions (as in, doing music for folks on Weasyl instead of only doing work for video games/shows etc.) As making music is my actual job, the rates I charge are roughly the same (there's a slight weasyl discount!) I charge when taking jobs within the games industry. (Links available, if you'd like to hear/play any games I scored.)

My prices work on a timed basis, yeah. It isn't in exact increments though. I do charge less here on Weasyl than I do for professional work right now, so hopefully that helps! It's laid out about like this;

2 minutes: 75$ USD
3 minutes: 90$ USD
4 minutes: 160$ USD
5 minutes: 200$ USD

This only refers to the length of the song up until the point that it loops. Therefore, if the song is 30 seconds long, I can make it loop to one minute, or longer, and you'd still only have to pay the 35$ for the 30 seconds of music I composed, if that makes sense.

It should be noted that I will only do a set number of full restarts on a song (2) before I need to charge an additional fee. I will do 6 minor revisions too, before charging anything additional for those. This is my process during the creation of game soundtracks, as well.
