Havin' a good day. by Lanovran

Here in Cincinnati, it's a warm and humid day for a bike ride, but certainly not a bad one. After watching last night's "Game of Thrones," I rode downtown for lunch at Park+Vine on Main St., through the noise and dust of streetcar rail construction, amidst the mid-day rush traffic (which was hardly "rushing" anywhere), and getting honked at by some doofus who apparently couldn't see the large Tom & Chee delivery van that was stopped at the red light in front of me, while dodging oblivious pedestrians stepping out into intersections at inopportune times. Fun! :)

After that, I took a quick jaunt over to the Newport Levee for some red velvet ice cream at Cold Stone (the Orange Leaf by the Reds' stadium was closed 'til tomorrow, of course), and then enjoyed a leisurely ride homeward through the riverfront parks. I even saw the first wild snake that I've seen in years, crossing the path in front of me towards the tall grass on the edge. :) After wishing the wee Thamnophis well, I continued on to home, where I now sit, in need of a shower and a haircut, hearing the sounds of thunder outside along with several more locally-sourced, high-pitched meows demanding my attention.

Why is it that a day off from work almost always ends up feeling comparatively more productive, in spite of not accomplishing anything particularly significant? :P

Havin' a good day.
