So the natural thing with my nephew and my parents is, if it's even REMOTELY extreme - such as (gasp) the kinds of things of the 70s, 80s, and 90s that parents and grandparents USED to not pussy out in an incessant bawfest over - then my now 6-year-old nephew simply isn't allowed to watch it.

Rewind to a night of several months ago in 2014. Nephew watches (drumroll...) "The Passion of the Christ" with my sister. Parents get pissed, and make sure he doesn't get to watch that movie. They also blame Hollywood for, quote, "Always trying to put violence in movies", in ignoring the fact that the biblical story of Jesus is violent by nature.

So to recap, on top of not being allowed to play horrible, horrible games such as Dragon's Dogma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1, AND SOMETIMES SCOTT PILGRIM TOO BECAUSE "OH MY GAWD, YOU PUNCH PEOPLE IN IT!!!", my nephew isn't even allowed to cut through all the censorship bullshit to PLAINLY SEE "The Passion of the Christ" BECAUSE~

 

It's "too violent"...

 

...even though it's the ONE story he's going to have shoved in his face and jammed down his throat for the rest of his Christian life in a family like mine ANYWAY.

 

Absolutely. Fucking. Hilarious.
