Gin Martinis by kerplunk

I have discovered gin martinis. My folks buy and encourage us to drink their high quality booze and therefore we get to indulge in Bombay Saphire gin with Dolin vermouth and good goddamn I'm getting so tastefully tipsy with these things.

In other news my dad has decided to start paying me to work in his winery which is just awesome, and ever so generous. I feel a different kind of commitment to the work, which is retail in nature (you're working with the public), but being paid to represent a product you believe in really changes the emotional content of the work. I feel a lot calmer and even excited to see people come into the storefront, whereas before I was feeling kind of, shall we say, apprehensive about interacting with customers.

I'm also pleased to say that my sister is in treatment for the next 30 days (assuming she doesn't run away in the mean time), which at the very least means two things: she'll be away from us for a month in a place where she's cared for 24/7, and if she fucks up again she'll be in a city that's 3-4 hours away from us so at least she can't come haunt us in the middle of the night... small comforts.

In the mean time I am tipsy and need more alcohol and food so here I go...

Ah, haven't been on Weasyl much. Crazy situation with your sister, sorry to hear what's going on. Glad it's a bit better at least? Small comforts indeed.
Nice to hear this new work's been fulfilling. Drink responsibly!

Thanks for the feedback, it's nice to hear from you. Yeah, my family life has been revolving around my sister's addiction for several years now, but we're all finally at a point where we feel like we need to keep our distance, literally and figuratively. We starting to enter the phase where we recover our lives from the addict, and as long as we don't let ourselves fall for any false hope and new betrayals, I think we can continue to recover.

Responsible drinking?! What the heck is that? Sounds like an oxymoron to me. ;3

Responsible drinking is that thing they mention a bit at the end of alcohol beverages ads. I think. It's said really fast, surely nothing important.
