Wow, that's pretty good for my Weasyl page. I know it's still lagging behind compared to my FA, but I do enjoy it here on Weasyl. The folder system is fantastic, and while I don't get nearly as many comments as on FA, and even on FA sometimes I don't get as many as I expect, they are all appreciated.

I've got an announcement coming up, but I'm doing my best to keep a lid on it until I'm ready, but I hope it'll prove worth the wait.

In other news, Shrag bought me a pair of chefs knives, and I bought a knife block for the house to increase the size of our available capacity for nice knives. :)

This week I've got two new recipes to try, some baked bananas for dessert and a chinese looking soup. ;)

Yay for an insane amount of views! At least you deserve them.

Why thank you! Thank you for the comments as well!

Whoo! Pointy things and views! What a fun combination!

I used them to make a soup tonight. :)

I'm not surprised about the page views, and nothing like a couple of good sharp knives in the kitchen.

A good sharp knife is a must for a cook!

You view hog!! I just checked mine. 403..... of course I don't post here anymore, really so what could I expect anyway?

Bunny should post to Weasyl too, it's a good site. :)

Weasyl is fine, but FA is my go-to site. I usually just don't feel the need to do multiple posts. Everybody I know here is on FA too anyway. ;3

FA is still my main site as well, but I try to give them equal love and grow my Weasyl audience as well. :) So far so good, though my FA numbers are much higher.

Now you just need an endgrain cutting board so those knives will keep their edge longer.

      Oh?

      • Link

Endgrain cutting boards are made so the grain of the wood is pointing up. When the knife hits the board the fibers just split and then come back together when the knife is pulled away, so both the knife and board receive less damage.

I was considering getting a new bamboo cutting board, I have two portable ones that I use.

So? I've got -- uh -- 27 hits on my page -- and I don't even have anything posted. Guess I've got to put up some puppy pictures or something.

I love to collect knives (n-i-i-i-ce, sh-a-a-a-rp kn-i-i-i-ves!) of all kinds, and at a show a few years ago, one of my favorite dealers had a nice case with two black-bladed, ceramic kitchen knives: a paring knife and a chef's knife. They're incredible. You don't want to use them for anything too hard, like carrots of rutabagas, but nothing cuts salad veggies (paper thin cucumber, anyone?) like these things. They'll chop onions all day, and a quick rinse under the tap and they're odorless. They never seem to need sharpening, which is good, because the dealer does the sharpening ($7 for both). You just need to be real careful washing them -- you don't want to hit the faucet with a blade. They're technically glass, after all.

Shrag has a ceramic knife, it's nice, but very delicate looking. I do very much love the knives he bought me though. :)

They are a little delicate. I'm not sure how many men buy their women knives (I think it's an indication of trust!), but I don't think it's common. My Dad would always buy Mom's knives, or at least pass judgement on them first. He was, for a Chemical Engineer, an expert on blades, and my sister is still using some of those knives 65 years later. If Shrag cares that much, he sounds like a keeper!

Oh yeah. We've been together for a long time, close to 13 years I guess?

I love the knives he bought me. :)
